Inspired by our founder, Barbra Watson-Riley’s life in the cancer lane, since 2015 volunteers across the country have assembled and distributed over 1,500 BARB’S BAG® of Chemo Care & Comfort bags to female breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, particularly those in marginalized communities, through our healthcare partners.

See what’s in the bag!

Soon we will announce our Ambassadors and Healthcare Partners. You can get involved by becoming a financial or product sponsor or by making a donation to help us provide care and comfort to disadvantaged and marginalized women in chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

We raised over $30,000 to produce the play and to support cancer research to eradicate disparities in the black community as well as cancer patient and advocate education and support.

Other Initiatives to Support Our Programming

  • In support of #GivingTuesday, Facebook partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to match up to $2 million in donations that are made on Facebook to eligible U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits. PWCF participated in this fundraising initiative and raised $770 in donated and matched funds.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer Day

  • Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) Day, organized by the TNBC Foundation, Inc., is an annual global awareness and grassroots fundraising campaign to help eradicate triple negative breast cancer. Our PWCF founder, Barbra Watson-Riley, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, a very aggressive form of breast cancer that is more likely to recur and more difficult to treat because there is no targeted treatment. It is also more likely to affect younger women and women of color. So, in addition to the work we do to support breast cancer patients and their caregivers through BARB’S BAG® and LIFE in the CANCER Lane productions, we also support organizations like TNBC Foundation, Inc., because of its tremendous commitment to support and fund breakthrough research to discover and develop promising new treatments for TNBC Patients.
