Our founder, Barbra Watson-Riley, was amazing!
Actually, she still is! Because although we remember the fourth anniversary of her passing today (11/7/2013), she lives on through her family and through the work of Pinkwellchick Foundation, Inc.
This year, PWCF’s amazing ambassadors assembled over four hundred BARB’S BAGS® of chemo & radiation care and comfort during four events in five cities for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and delivery is underway!
In August, we also partnered with the Cobb Institute to stage LIFE in the CANCER LANE® during the National Medical Association’s annual convention in Philadelphia. We raised over $30,000 to produce the play and to support cancer research disparities in the black community as well as cancer patient and advocate education and support.
Barbra’s motto was to “DO SOMETHING” to improve the lives and health of women, particularly those in underserved communities. In her honor and memory, we encourage you to find a way to support a cancer patient, survivor, or caregiver today and to continue to support our efforts to do the same.
Thank you,
Tonya M. Evans, Esq., Chair
Barb’s spirit lives on, in the good work that the Pinkwellchick Foundation does in fighting breast cancer in our communities. We thank you.
Lovingly,
The Watsons
